Home/Service/RV Inspections

Know what you're buying before you sign.

A used RV is the most expensive thing most people buy without a professional looking at it. We inspect all six sides, then run every system and appliance, and hand you a photo report of what needs attention — and what it would cost. On any RV, from anyone, from $675.

The report

What we actually check

Two passes. First a visual of all six sides — roof, four walls, underbelly. Then an operational pass where every system gets turned on and made to do its job.

  • Roof membrane, seams, sealant, vents, skylights
  • Sidewalls and end caps for soft spots and water intrusion
  • Underbelly, frame, suspension, axle alignment
  • Tires — tread, DOT dates, sidewall cracking
  • Brakes, bearings, breakaway switch
  • Slide-outs — operation, alignment, seals, toppers
  • Awnings, steps, jacks, leveling
  • Propane system pressure and leak test
  • Fridge, furnace, water heater, A/C, cooktop, microwave
  • Water pump, plumbing, tanks and valves
  • Converter, inverter, batteries, shore power, 12V
  • Interior — floors, walls, ceiling, moisture readings
You get: a verbal rundown when we finish, then a written report with photos, a description of every issue, and what we'd charge to fix it — the number you take back to the seller.

Questions

Inspection FAQ

Can you inspect an RV I'm buying from a private seller or another dealer?

Yes — that's most of what we do. You arrange access with the seller; we show up, inspect, and report to you. Sellers who won't allow it are telling you something.

How long does it take?

Two to four hours for a house inspection depending on size and slides. Automotive adds about an hour plus the drive.

What does the RV need to have?

Power (shore or a charged battery), propane in the tank, and some water in the fresh tank so we can run the pump and water heater. If it's dry we'll bring water.

If I buy it, will you do the repairs?

Gladly. You'll already have the estimate for every item in the report, so many buyers negotiate the repairs into the price and have us do them before delivery.

Do you inspect the RVs you sell?

Every one, before it's listed, with the report on the listing. It's the same inspection.

A service writer reads every one of these and gets back to you, usually the same business day. If you'd rather just talk it through, call (916) 836-8602.
