Home/Service/RV Orientations

New to RVing? Let's spend two hours together.

Most first-season repairs are operator error nobody warned you about — a slide run with the jacks down, a water heater fired empty, a black tank left open. A tech walks you through your rig, at your driveway or ours, until you're comfortable with every system on it.

What's covered

The walkthrough

You drive, we ride along. Everything on this list happens on your RV with your hands on it.

01

Component explanation

What every switch, valve, panel and indicator does — and what it looks like when it's about to fail.

02

Camp setup & breakdown

Leveling, stabilizing, hooking up shore power, water and sewer in the right order. Then undoing it without forgetting anything.

03

Hitch & brake setup

Hitch height, weight distribution, sway control, brake controller gain. The five minutes that decide whether towing is pleasant or terrifying.

04

Starting equipment

Water heater, furnace, fridge on propane and shore power, generator start and load, A/C. Including the order that doesn't trip breakers.

05

Dumping the tanks

Black first, gray second, when to flush, why the black valve stays closed. The lesson everybody wishes they'd had before their first campground.

06

Routine maintenance

What to check before every trip, what to do monthly, and what to hand to us once a year. You leave with a one-page checklist.

Details

Who it's for, what it costs

  • Bought from us? Included, before delivery or the day you pick it up. We'd rather teach you than fix it.
  • Bought elsewhere? A flat $225 at the shop or $300 mobile at your rig — about two hours either way, priced below our hourly rate on purpose. Bring your questions and a notebook.
  • Inherited one, or first RV in twenty years? Same class, adjusted for what's changed — and a lot has.
  • Renting it out? Ask about a shortened walkthrough script you can hand to guests.

Learn it before you need it.

$225 at the shop, $300 at your driveway — either way it's two hours with the tech who'll be servicing your rig anyway, and it saves a service call in July.

A service writer reads every one of these and gets back to you, usually the same business day. If you'd rather just talk it through, call (916) 836-8602.

Goes straight to our service writers. We don't sell or share your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
